Immunizations for 7th graders and Kindergarten students: Does your child have all the required immunizations for school??? Now is the time to turn in your child’s immunization sheets! It is important that your child’s paperwork is turned in to the health office prior to the start of the new school year. Students WILL NOT be able to start school in the September unless immunization are up to date and on record with the school by the first day of school.
Immunizations are required by Minnesota law and must be completed before students can start school in the fall. Kindergarten and 7th grade students have several requirements. All students in grades 7-12 need to show proof of a Tetanus Diphtheria booster shot and meningococcal vaccine after the age of 11. A complete list of required immunizations is available on the ZM school webpage under the Health Services link under the Parents tab.
A copy of the student’s current immunization record must be on file at school PRIOR to the first day of school. Parents may file a medical exemption signed by a healthcare provider or a conscientious objection signed by a parent/guardian AND notarized. http://www.health.state.mn.us/immunize
