PBIS

ZMMS/HS is very excited to begin its 4th year of implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The high school and middle schools have combined to form a 7-12th grade PBIS leadership team. All of our sites are now a part of the PBIS initiative, creating a positive learning environment throughout the district. We all look forward to another great year as we strive to increase respect for all in our schools!

ZMMS/HS promotes a community of mutual respect, optimism, acceptance and responsibility by providing a foundation for academic success.

PBIS encourages:

· Direct teaching of positive, expected behaviors in all locations of the school

· Frequent positive reinforcement of behavioral expectations (see matrix)

· Public acknowledgement of positive behavior (Cougar Paws, group celebrations)

· Consistent consequences for rule violations (see minor/major referral forms)
