It is truly an honor to serve as the Superintendent of the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Schools where we are "Building a Bridge to the Future" every day. The enthusiasm for learning of our students, educators and community motivate me to do my best as an educational leader every day.
I have been an educator for over 25 years starting as an elementary school teacher and followed by 18 years as a school administrator. I have served students, families and staff in the Bloomington, South Washington County and Rosemount/Apple Valley/Eagan School Districts before coming to ZM. I also served as an Adjunct Professor at St. Mary's University for several years in the area of educational leadership. In all of my roles as an educator, I have worked hard to put students first by working as a partner with the great educators around me.
My wife Lori is a kindergarten teacher and has also served as an educator for over 25 years. I have two daughters, Emily, who is a junior at the University of Minnesota, and Betsy, who is a freshman at Winona State University. We are a family that loves to learn and have fun here in our home state of Minnesota.
With an enrollment of over 1,100 students, the Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District provides a number of rigorous academic, co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities. From strong offerings in our preschool settings to pre-college advanced placement courses, we have a wide variety of choices for students and families. Our mission of "Building a bridge to the future" where all individuals have the opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe, challenging learning environment" is something we live every day here in ZM. We will do everything we can to meet the needs of our students and support our families.
We are very excited about the new learning that lies ahead for all of us in the 2016-2017 school year and we welcome you to join us in "Building a bridge to the future" with our students.
