I am so excited to be a part of the Zumbrota-Mazeppa school district. I currently coordinate and teach classes for our ECFE program at ZM. I live in Cannon Falls with my husband, 2 daughters, and a baby on the way! I have a masters degree in teaching, specializing in early childhood education. Below is some more information on what ECFE is and how it can benefit your entire family!
Welcome to Zumbrota-Mazeppa's Early Childhood Family Education Program (ECFE)
What is ECFE?
Early - ZM School's ECFE program starts at your child's birth. Children ages newborn to before they enter kindergarten have the opportunity to attend programs that are geared towards their development and interest level. ECFE's goal is to enhance the ability of all parents and other family members to provide the best possible environment for their child's growth and learning.
Childhood - ECFE is a great opportunity to create lasting memories for the entire family. Many families that have started classes with their children at an early age have commented on what a memorable experience it has been for them.
Family - Did you know that ECFE is not only geared towards children, but parents as well? In our traditional ECFE class sessions, a licensed parent educator is present to facilitate parent discussions related to the joys and struggles of parents young children. These discussion offer support, new ideas, and encouragement from other parents. The other half of class gives families the opportunity to participate in class together through circle time, centers, and exploration. Children enjoy sharing their early school experiences with their parents, grandparents and/or siblings.
Education - ECFE is based on the idea that the family provides a child's first and most significant learning environment and parents are a child's fire and most important teachers. ZM's ECFE program offers a variety of early learning in their school. Licensed Early Childhood teachers focus the class' curriculum on the development and interests of the children in their class. These early learning opportunities will help them become familiar with a classroom and prepare them for preschool and/or kindergarten.
