Advanced Algebra

Prerequisite: Algebra I and Geometry /Student may take Geometry concurrent with teacher approval

Advanced Algebra is a one year course open to students in grades 10, 11, and 12 who have completed Algebra I and Geometry with a high level of achievement. This course will cover all the topics presented in Algebra I but to a higher degree. Coordinate Geometry will be developed to show how the courses of Algebra and Geometry complement each other. Some new topics will be complex numbers, solution of systems of equations, the quadratic formula, logarithms, and basic trigonometric functions. Students must pass Semester I in order to continue with Semester II.
