Zumbrota-Mazeppa Students in Hiawatha Valley Honor Band and Choir Concert

The annual HVL All-Conference Honor Band and Choir concert took place at Cannon Falls Gym on Monday, November 7th at 6:30pm.  

Zumbrota-Mazeppa students selected to participate in the HVL Honor Choir included Emerson Bengston, Cecelia Kimber, Rachel Krinke, Alexandra Ebertowski, Jayvion Stanton, Tommy Helfer, Kyle Moyer, and Jimmy Suess.  The choir performed “Lead with Love” by Melanie Demore, “Requiem” by Eliza Gilkyson, "Viva!" by Mozart/Liebergen, and "City Called Heaven" Arranged by Poelinitz.  The Honor Choir was directed by Guest Conductor Mark Potvin (Luther College).  

Zumbrota-Mazeppa students selected to participate in the HVL Honor Band included Collin Klassen, Olivia Amsbaugh, Toby Donovan, Ryan Lexvold, Zane Angerman, Kacey Scholl, Noah Kevan, and Makayla Rodriguez.  The Band performed four selections including a concert overture titled “Awakening Hills”, by Saucedo, a lyrical selection by Frank Ticheli entitled “Earth Song”, a contemporary selection, “Earth Song”, by Brian Balmages and finally a Roy Phillipe arrangement of “The Magnificent 7”, from the famous movie of the same name.  The band was directed by Steven Amundson (St. Olaf College).
