TONYA CONSTANTINE

Hello Zumbrota-Mazeppa! I am Tonya Constantine, the new 7-12 principal. I am incredibly excited to be serving the students, staff, and communities of Zumbrota-Mazeppa. I grew up in Virginia, Minnesota, a small town on the northern Iron Range, so I understand the importance and pride in local history that is steeped in family, education, and community involvement. ZM already feels like home to me! 

After obtaining my Bachelor’s of Science degree from UW-Eau Claire and Masters of Education from St. Mary’s University, I became a teacher and Instructional Coach at the Eastern Carver County School District in Chaska, MN. I left that district after 25 years to become an Assistant Principal at the Rock Ridge High School in my hometown of Virginia, and then served as Assistant Principal of Waconia High School before coming to Zumbrota-Mazeppa. I have my K-12 Specialists degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato and completed my Superintendent’s hours through St. Mary’s. 

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family! I am the proud mother of a daughter who attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a son who is completing high school in Minnetonka. We enjoy boating, biking, hiking, and traveling around our great state.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Zumbrota-Mazeppa team and community and am eager to serve as the 7-12 principal. I look forward to meeting each of you and hearing your stories, so please don’t hesitate to stop by!

JOHN STAPLETON

Hello ZM Cougars! My name is John Stapleton and I am the new 7-12 Assistant Principal for Zumbrota-Mazeppa Schools. I am originally from River Falls, Wisconsin. I have a Bachelor's Degree, Master’s Degree and K-12 Principal License all from Winona State University (Go Warriors!). 

 My wife Janet and I have been married for 18 years and we have three children: Lane (17), Ellen (14) & Lily (9). We enjoy spending time together outside and traveling as a family. For the past 20 years I have been a Social Studies teacher in the Pine Island School District. 

 I am excited to be working at ZM Schools and can’t wait to meet you all this fall. Please stop in and say hello!
