🎨 Punch Needle Embroidery – Grades 4 & Up 🎨

Looking for a fun and calming craft? Each student gets a starter kit and will learn the basics of punch needle embroidery—from threading the needle to creating a colorful design. By the end, you’ll have a beautiful piece to hang in your room or frame!

Over the past two weeks, ZM students have learned about common vision impairments, practiced reading and writing Braille using LEGO pieces, and used special goggles to experience what it’s like to navigate with limited vision. They explored how to adapt their environment and use tools like walking sticks to stay safe and successful—while gaining a new perspective on what helps some of their classmates thrive!

Thank you to Officer Clemenson, of the Zumbrota Police Department, for making our 9th annual Car Seat Week a tremendous success!! She came in to teach the Child Development class all about car seat safety, laws, and installation techniques.

Also, thank you so much to our friends at Cougar Care for volunteering to help our teens learn through experience.

Happy Mole Day, ZM! This year's Mole Day theme is: Moleassic Park. Every October 23rd, from 6:02am to 6:02pm, dorky chemists around the globe celebrate the SI unit of measurement called "the mole".  You see, 1 mole = 6.02 x 10^23 particles and helps scientists work with tiny numbers and bring them into workable units like grams, or liters. 

We are looking for a few more families to join us for the 5:45-6:45 pm class (Ages 1-5). Please register by this Friday at 9am!!

🧵 Stitch & Stuff – Grades 3–7 ✂️
Let’s get creative! Students will learn basic hand-stitching techniques like basting, whip, and running stitches while making a fun jar topper. Everyone will choose their own pattern and take home a finished project—no experience needed!
